Terms of Use
Effective November 2, 2026
1. The app
Rtro - Analog Lab ("the App") is a film simulation camera for iOS, developed and published by Lisheng Chang ("the developer", "I"). These Terms of Use govern your use of the App. Contact: csee@live.com.
2. License
The App is licensed, not sold, to you through the Apple App Store under the Standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple EULA"). These terms supplement the Apple EULA and do not replace it; where the two conflict, the Apple EULA prevails to the extent of the conflict.
3. Acceptable use
You may use the App to develop photographs you own or otherwise have the right to use.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the App's rendering engine, film profile data, or other embedded assets.
- Do not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or repackage the App or any part of it.
- Do not use the App to process material you have no right to process.
4. Your photographs
Photographs you develop remain yours. No rights are claimed over your images, and none are transmitted anywhere: the App has no server and no upload path.
5. Film profiles, data, and credits
The App's film and paper profiles are derived from published manufacturer datasheets, scientific literature, and community-measured data. Material from spektrafilm is used under CC BY-SA 4.0 (© Andrea Volpato) and shared under the same license where it is redistributed. Full credits are listed in the App under Settings → About.
6. Trademarks
Product names such as Kodak, Fujifilm and Ilford are trademarks of their respective owners. Rtro is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any of these manufacturers. Film stock names appear as descriptive references to the photographic emulsions being simulated; no claim of affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement is made.
7. No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. A simulation is an interpretation of a photographic process, not a guarantee that an image will match any particular physical film stock, scanner, or lab.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost photographs, lost data, or lost profits, arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App.
9. Changes
The App and these terms may change. Material changes will appear on this page with a new effective date, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
